Pepper(sauce) and Sauce

Postby digger » Wed Oct 26, 2011 10:07 pm

Does anyone have any information, reference or literature suggestion for the term "piperata et salsa" - in English pepper(sauce) and sauce, in German Pfeffer(soße) und Soße (middle German: pfeffer und salse)? I read an article a while ago about it, but can't recall the title. My main interest is wether there is a difference between the terms pepper(sauce) and sauce and on what this difference is based on or if the terms are used synonymous.
